January Blues
Today is long, and boring and cold - Suffering with the January Blues (or just being a lazy student, who knows?!)
I found three tips online for “fighting” said January Blues, which I think are more than a tad ridiculous:
1: Lie flat on the floor with your legs raised.
Erm, Why? No doubt the Mail Online has researched the health benefits of this ridiculous pose/exercise, but does lying on the floor really “open up your energy channels”
2: Plan A Holiday
I’m not sure I know anyone with enough money to plan a holiday because IT’S JANUARY. We all maxxed out on Christmas presents, christmas meals and christmas drinks - everyone is poor. Altought a holiday is a lovely prospect, the credit card bill and impending debt is not. Nice try, but still not solving my january blues.
3: Ask Yourself What’s Making You Feel Down In The Dumps
By far the most sensible suggestion, however I don’t really want to dwell on the fact, it’s cold, I’m poor and it’s not christmas anymore.
I think the best thing about that article was the ridiculous “Lie on the floor with your legs in air” method, I didn’t try it, but the thought did make me laugh. So at least the article went some way in cheering me up, and gave me something to write about!
